Mostly Politics, but some Health, Humour and Happiness A touch of Weird and a dash of Biographical. Above all I try to keep it interesting

My Photo
Name:
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

A 63 yr. old left winger living in a 5 star shoebox in an inner suburb of Melbourne. Living alone, but have a 30 yr old son living in a neighbouring suburb. Retired and loving life. I love intercourse with people of all races, religions and colours. I harbour an intense dislike for Bush, Blair and Howard and their co-horts, as well as right wing shock jocks. I used to be a Government employee (TAFE) and when I left I was left with a small pension and a small nest egg. So lucky me, I don't need to work anymore. I love singing, playing guitar and playing tai chi. I live a life of frugal comfort. No more status anxiety or affluenza for me.

car culture, bluegrass, cartoons

Hello, I'm back.
Had a couple of days off. I got Blog enthusiasm fatigue. Almost recovered now.
You wonder why I hate cars and "motorists".
I go into my home page "Yahoo" and this is one of the first headlines I see. "Young Sydney burns victim Sophie Delezio hit by car "
I think the driver of that car should be very severely punished. For example, massaged around the temples with a tyre lever.
You know, I still place the blame for this sort of behavior and attitude on Government. In tying to appease the "motorist" they turn a blind eye to the social consequenses of the car/testosterone culture.
Even the car adds are spoken with a sort of a cigarette and alcohol burned "boyo" voice. Especially with the big fast cars and "utes"
"Fuck them"

Young Sydney burns victim Sophie Delezio, badly injured in a childcare centre accident in 2003, has been hit by a car in Sydney's north, her father said.
An ambulance spokeswoman said a five-year-girl was struck by car about 4pm (AEST) on Frenchs Forest Road at Seaforth.
The girl was in a critical condition suffering head, facial, chest and leg injuries, she said.
She has been airlifted to Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick, the spokeswoman said.
Sophie's father Ron Delezio said the car struck her when it failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing.
"She was in a pram crossing the road and someone didn't stop," Mr Delezio told Macquarie radio.
"It just hit the pram.
"We don't know her full condition yet.
"We believe she got a broken leg of some sort but we don't know the full extent at this stage."
Sophie was badly burnt in December 2003 when a car burst into flames after slamming into the Roundhouse Childcare Centre at Fairlight, in Sydney's northern beaches.
Sophie, then aged two, and her friend Molly Wood, also two, were pinned under the car and spent months in hospital recovering from critical burns.
Sophie lost both her feet, some fingers and her right ear in the accident.

Being the music lover that I am and the hot bluegrass guitarist that I wannabee, I am really enjoying this site recommended to me by Musician friend, Kevin Parcell, http://kimandmikeontheroad.com/, Thanks Kevin. There is not only music on it, but beautiful photos of ----- Dammit, why am I typing so much;- here's a pasted synopsis.
"Hi, we are Kim Davis and Mike Stangeland and our home is the open road. The photo you see below is Big Bend National Park in Texas, one of our many homes. We're retired, live in an RV and travel continuously, visiting state and national parks and music festivals around the US, Canada and Mexico. We're musicians and naturalists and enjoy studying and photographing the natural world and playing traditional music. "
I hope you have a look at the site.
I've collected a few nice cartoons I'd like to share with you:

Hey, this next one wasn't supposed to be a cartoon. Oh well, never mind

Paul
